Welcome to our first Charleston special at Ardour Academy!

Our Band:

The trio will play old time swing and Charleston favourites from the 20’s 30’s and 40’s.

It will be an evening of pure joy and escapism. We welcome all levels, dancers and not dancers!

Charleston Class & Live Music

Shine those shoes and rouge those knees - it’s time for a night of 1920s dancing and live music at Ardour Academy! 8-9pm 1920s Charleston Class with The Swing Project Join The Swing Project for our 20s Charleston Taster Class! We’ll dive into this 1920s dance craze, so you can dance the Charleston both solo and with a partner! 9-10.30pm Live Band.

As this is a social dance and we’ll be offering partner rotation* during the class, you will need proof of a negative lateral flow test (taken within 48hrs of class start) to check in - proof can be in the following forms:
Email/Text confirmation after reporting your result (https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result)
The test itself if taken just before class.
If you forget your test, we’ll have a small supply of spares available on arrival but please note you cannot join the class until your results appear.

*If you wish to dance with a fixed partner, you are more than welcome to do so

Prior to attending the event please make sure:
- You do not have any symptoms of Covid-19 such as a cough, temperature, loss of smell (or had in the past 10 days), or have consequently tested negative
- You have not been instructed to quarantine or self-isolate by Track & Trace
- To your knowledge you have not been in close contact with anyone with Covid-19 in the last 10 days
- You will inform Ardour if you develop symptoms & test positive for Covid-19 within 48hrs of attending this event, and will test negative by PCR test before returning to Ardour ☺️

Covid guidance on-site:
- Wash hands / Apply hand sanitiser before & after classes / social dancing. Sanitiser stations provided at key points at venue
- Face-masks are optional
- In social dancing please respect other people's varied decisions to mix, or not mix

Our address is on Wellfield Road, right in the heart of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. You can find detailed directions HERE on our website.
We are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible at the moment and working hard to change this in the future.
We do however run some of our sessions in wheelchair assessable locations, and off live streaming of some of our classes/events. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss accessibility.
