About the session and facilitator:

In our dancing, what about we started just where we are?
That day, that moment, that breath, that gesture?
What can it be like to fully take off the idea that we have to get anywhere, or will anything to happen, perhaps our dancing can emerge from a place of just receiving ourselves, just as we are that day.
Perhaps the dance is already there, waiting inside us for us to just follow the impulses that wants to happen. What if we began with what feels good, where the pleasure is and proceed from there. It’s a kind of innocent effortless place, children often show us adults how it’s done, through free play, through following where our curiosity comes alive.

This workshop is in essence is about listening deeply to how our attention moves and how we move with our attention. The premise is to open to play through simple improvisational structures that highlight and support the convergence between sensation, imagination and connection to where and how we are.

My name is Cai and I am a Cisgender, queer, Welsh speaking artist. I go by the pronouns (he/ him). My work in its essence is about movement, in all its forms. I tend to move between different art forms that reflect different aspects of my practice, but at the core I’m interested in the imagination, and its relationship to our bodies. I’m interested in healing and health too, and how the arts help us to find what we often don’t know we were looking for. We come in so many shapes and sizes and different ways we see and experience the world, both our joys and pains. The arts more than anything help us listen, and by doing that, by really listening, we share something of our common humanity, of being together in the world in that moment, and it’s these moments that help us find and create meaning as we go on through our days… www.caitomos.com
