What to expect expect:
A beginners level Samba de Gafieira class open to those with or without any dance experience.
This level is designed to gradually build up your skills and confidence in Samba de gafieira. These classes focus on basic elements which give the best possible foundation to continue learning Samba in the next level.
This is a partner dance but you don’t need to bring a partner. You can come alone or bring a friend.
Samba de Gafieira
Samba de Gafieira is a fun and lively partner dance from Brazil danced to all Samba rhythms including pagode, bossa nova etc. Its very versatile and it can look quite different depending on the music or the style of the dancer. It has its roots in solo Samba dances and capoeira, and was also influenced by other partner dances.
The class is delivered by Amy. She started to learn Samba de Gafieira in London with Brazilian dance instructors. After some years learning as a follower, she retrained to lead.
