Week 1 (4/3/24)- SPACE: Embark on a captivating journey through space in this contemporary dance class, inspired by the Effort Graph, where the fusion of direct and indirect movements invites participants to explore the dynamic interplay between their bodies and the surrounding space, fostering a heightened spatial awareness and artistic expression.

Week 2 (11/3/24)- WEIGHT: Delve into the nuanced world of weight in this contemporary dance experience. Inspired by the Effort Graph, participants will explore the contrast between heavy and light movements, discovering the profound impact of weight dynamics on both individual expression and group choreography.

Week 3 (18/3/24)- TIME: In this invigorating contemporary dance class, participants will harness the power of time as a choreographic element. The juxtaposition of sudden bursts and sustained movements inspired by the Effort Graph will challenge dancers to push their physical boundaries while mastering the art of controlled and dynamic time variations.

Week 4 (25/3/24)- FLOW: Experience the seamless blend of free-flowing and bound restricted movements in this contemporary dance class, where the Effort Graph serves as a guide. We will explore the harmonious coexistence of fluidity and rigidity. Participants will find liberation in unrestricted movements while discovering the beauty of disciplined and purposeful dance.

Karol Cysewski is a passionate and dedicated dance teacher known for his innovative approach, who pays deep appreciation for creativity and technique, developing students’ confidence and joy of movement.

*The Effort Graph is a concept within Laban Movement Analysis (LMA), a system developed by Rudolf Laban to analyse and describe human movement. The Effort Graph specifically categorises movement into four components: Space, Weight, Time, and Flow.

The Effort Graph is a tool used in dance and movement analysis to understand and classify the qualities of movement, providing a framework for choreographers and dancers to create and communicate various nuances in their performances.
